Jeff Courter grew up on a family farm in Michigan, mentored by his grandfather and father, both passionate and skilled hunters who taught him a lifelong love for the great outdoors.
As an avid hunter and tech entrepreneur, Jeff Courter founded Sportsman Tracker in 2015 after searching the outdoor industry for ways to optimize his time in the woods. When he couldn’t find the tested and proven, data-driven solution he was looking for, he created it.
Jeff developed the proprietary weather, terrain, and species-specific algorithms that power the company's flagship digital platform, HuntWise. This distinctive SaaS and mobile experience providing hunters with the most advanced and accurate forecast of where and when to hunt quickly gained national recognition. Today, HuntWise has more than 2.5 million users who have logged in more than 33 million predictions and set over 8 million pins.
In September of 2021, Kalkomey, a leading provider of online recreational safety education, certifications, and cloud-based agency management solutions, acquired Sportsman Tracker. The partnership is revolutionizing the way hunters access and safely engage with the great outdoors, and it represents the hunting industry’s first full-circle online certification to in-the-field experiences pathway.
